Science reports a close relationship between the central nervous system (brain) and gastrointestinal tract (GI or gut). Thus, the "second brain" concept highlights the importance of the gut in digestion and overall health. Mood regulation and immune and cognitive functions are some of the influences it has on our bodies. This topic has been an emphasis of Ayurveda, the "Science of Life," for more than 5,000 years. Ayurveda offers simple, natural strategies for microbiome health to help you create a healthy digestive system (agni).
