Under Brianna’s Law, all operators of motorized vessels need a boating safety certificate, regardless of age. This basic power boat and personal watercraft (PWC) class teaches the knowledge needed to obtain a U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary boating safety certificate for motorboat and personal watercraft operation. This course meets the boating safety education requirements for the state of New York. Many insurance companies recognize the certificate for discounts on boat insurance. Operators may not operate a personal watercraft (Jet Ski®, Sea-Doo®, etc.) unless they are at least 14 years of age and hold a boater safety certificate issued by the USCG Auxiliary for having completed an eight-hour, classroom-based course.

This course is open to individuals who are at least 10 years of age. Participants younger than 14 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the class.

Price: $35 (Course price includes a $20 materials fee.)
